Resumen

Los tumores glómicos de la cabeza y el cuello son tumores raros del adulto, se originan del paraganglio o células glómicas, las cuales generalmente se encuentran en el cuerpo carotídeo, el nervio vago, el oído medio, o el foramen yugular. Estos tumores en su gran mayoría son benignos y de crecimiento lento muy vascularizados, en la mayoría de los casos son tumores únicos, pero hasta 10% llegan a ser múltiples y este porcentaje aumenta hasta 35 o 50% en los casos familiares.
