Perspectivas en Medicina Familiar

Resumen
Un óptimo servicio de salud se emprende con la atención pri- maria dentro del Servicio de Medicina Familiar; la cercanía con el paciente nos brinda una amplia perspectiva, el carácter disci- plinario, así como la flexibilidad y adaptabilidad de los métodos de que dispone el sistema de salud de la seguridad social; sin embargo, ante las dominantes inequidades e irregularidades de calidad en el sistema mexicano de salud, y al analizar los avan- ces obtenidos a través del Proceso de Mejora de la Medicina Familiar, es evidente que debemos preservar y fortalecer no sólo la seguridad social, sino, particularmente, la Medicina Familiar; por lo que se requiere de un nuevo modelo que refleje los conceptos actuales de mejora en la calidad del servicio, más confiable, centrado en los pacientes.
