Resumen

Paciente masculino de 34 años de edad que acudió al servicio de Urgencias por síndrome febril de 72 horas de evolución, con mialgias en la región proximal de ambos miembros inferiores. Refirió que una semana antes había ingerido alcohol, sin llegar a la embriaguez, y medicamentos naturistas para bajar de peso. En la exploración física no se encontró debilidad muscular, solo dolor para la flexión de las extremidades inferiores y a la palpación profunda en ambos cuádriceps. Se reportó elevación de la creatina cinasa a 17,000 U/L. Se decidió hospitalizarlo para administrarle hidratación parenteral, alcalinizar la orina y realizarle estudios complementarios que permitieran establecer la causa de la fiebre.
