Preparation of figures and tables
Figures
-
Titles: Must be presented on the same page as the figure, at the bottom, indicating the corresponding figure number in Arabic numerals (e.g., Figure 1. Title).
-
Abbreviations: Definitions must be included at the bottom of the figure.
-
In-text Reference: Figures must be referenced in the text and inserted into the body of the article.
-
High Resolution: If presented separately due to size or complexity, figures must be submitted in GIF or JPG format at high resolution (300 dpi or more) and a size no larger than 800 x 600 pixels.
-
Text and Typography: Do not include any text within the figure itself. Use 9-point Arial font for any labels.
Tables
-
Format: Tables must be created using a word processor; they MUST NOT be in image format.
-
Numbering: Must be numbered consecutively using Roman numerals.
-
Titles: The table title must be located at the top.
-
In-text Reference: Tables must be referenced in the text and inserted into the body of the article (separate files are not accepted).
-
Limit: A maximum of 8 tables will be accepted.
Images
-
Submission: Images must be sent as separate files. Only the insertion point should be included in the text, placed in brackets and numbered consecutively as explained in the graphic material section.
-
Specifications: All images and other graphic materials (maps, photographs, or digital reproductions of graphic works such as paintings, engravings, as well as tables and graphs) must strictly comply with the following:
-
Resolution and Format: All maps, photographs (color or B/W), and digital reproductions of graphic works must be sent in high resolution (300 dpi) in JPG format, with a minimum size of letter or half-letter.
-
File Size: The maximum file size for submission via the platform is 14 MB.
-
Source Files: Maps or graphs created using Adobe® design suite software must be submitted with their original files (.ps, .ai).
-

-
Labeling: All files must be marked and numbered consecutively (i.e., Figure 01, Figure 02, etc.), with their title in brackets within the body of the text.
-
Captions: The caption for the image or graph must contain all necessary data for its identification: source, author, location, courtesy, etc.
