Protection of Human and Animal Subjects

In studies involving human subjects, it must be indicated whether the methods followed complied with the ethical standards of the relevant Research or Clinical Trials Committee (of the country, hospital, research center, or institution) and the 1975 Declaration of Helsinki, as revised and available at: http://www.wma.net/s/policy/b3.html. Images, names, initials, or hospital data that would allow the identification of the study subjects must not be included. When experiments performed on animals are included, it must be indicated whether the ethical standards of the corresponding research center, or relevant national laws regarding the care and use of laboratory animals, have been followed.

Redundant or Duplicate Publication

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work has not been previously published in the form in which it is sent to the Revista de Sanidad Militar (except as an abstract or part of a thesis). If the text has been previously disseminated in a pre-print repository, the corresponding author must make this explicit at the time of submission and indicate the corresponding DOI. If the article is accepted, the authors undertake to ensure that all dissemination subsequent to publication refers to the Revista de Sanidad Militar as the venue where it was first published, and they shall ensure that the citation appropriately refers to the Revista de Sanidad Militar data and the DOI assigned to it.

Funding and Declaration of Potential Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any commercial ties, material or financial support received during the research, at the time of writing or publication, or any potential financial interest related to the subject of their article that could give rise to a conflict of interest. If there is no funding source, the document must include this section and state: “The authors received no sponsorship to carry out this study-article.” This information will be made known at the end of each contribution, in a visible place.

Informed Consent (Concern)

Where applicable, authors must mention as part of the “Materials and Methods” section that the procedures and controls used on patients were carried out after obtaining informed consent, following the guidelines offered by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) in the section on Scientific Misconduct, Expressions of Concern, and Retraction.

Privacy

Authors are responsible for ensuring the right to patient privacy by protecting their identity both in the writing of the article and in the images. Names, initials, or hospital clinical record numbers, as well as any other data irrelevant to the research that could identify the patient, shall not be used in the text or in the photographs; unless such information is essential for scientific objectives, in which case it may be included in the article provided that the patient (or their parent or guardian) grants written informed consent for its publication.

Obtaining Permissions

Authors who reproduce previously published materials (text, tables, or figures) in their article will be directly responsible for obtaining the appropriate permissions for reproduction in the journal. Authors must have obtained written authorization from the publisher that published this material and submit a copy of it to the journal. If authors have any doubts about how to proceed, the editorial coordination of the Revista de Sanidad Militar can provide support in this regard.

Declaration of Originality

Authors shall declare that the content of the manuscript is original and has not been previously published, nor sent or submitted for consideration in any other publication format, either in its entirety or in any of its parts. Doing otherwise constitutes a serious breach of scientific ethics. To this end, authors must submit the duly completed Declaration of Originality letter, which will be submitted in PDF via the OJS platform.
