Resumen
El neumotórax, que es una variante de aire extraalveolar, se define por la acumulación de gas de cualquier fuente en la cavidad pleural. En este artículo de revisión, además de presentar un caso clínico, se comenta la clasificación clínica del mismo, así como ejemplo de enfermedades asociadas a él. Así mismo, se proporciona un breve repaso acerca de la fisiopatología, etiología, su abordaje clínico y paraclínico, así como las diversas modalidades de tratamiento según su presentación y severidad, desde el menos hasta el más invasivo.
