Resumen

La preparación mecánica de colon es el paradigma actual en cirugía colorrectal para reducir las complicaciones infecciosas, desde hace dos décadas numerosos estudios clínicos apuntan hacia una falta de beneficio real en este sentido; sin embargo, no cuentan con poder estadístico suficiente para eliminar la preparación como recomendación vigente.
