Resumen
El objetivo de este trabajo es revisar la literatura médica sobre las diversas opciones para el abordaje quirúrgico en la resección de tumores solitarios fibrosos de pleura y la presentación de un caso de tumor fibroso gigante solitario de pleura. El tumor solitario fibroso de pleura es una neoplasia rara de origen mesotelial que generalmente es de tipo benigno y con buen pronóstico si se logra una resección completa del tumor. Los síntomas aparecen hasta en 50% de los casos y puede haber síndromes paraneoplásicos como hipoglicemia o osteoartropatía pulmonar hipertrófica.
